What is Mirchi Pakoda?

Mirchi pakoda is a fritter, made with Jalapeno green chilies and filled with potato masala. And then it is dipped in chickpea flour mixture and fried in oil. It is also made without potato masala and you can also filled it with paneer masala as well.

Basically, it is a very popular snack in India at breakfast time and mostly at snack time. But it is most popular in Mumbai. In Mumbai When you purchase some mix fritters from the street vendors you also get this Mirchi Pakora along with them.

Can be filled with your favorite stuffing?

You can fill this Mirchi Pakora with your favorite stuffing like potato masala, paneer masala, and also onion masala. The stuffing Mirchi pakoda is served with a cup of tea and chutney. Tea and Mirchi pakora is an awesome combo in winter.

Ingredients

  • 8-10 Jalapeno Chili
  • 5-8 Boiled potatoes
  • salt to taste
  • 2 Green chili chopped
  • 1 tsp Grated ginger
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tbsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tbsp Dry Mango Powder
  • 1 cup Gram flour
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Wash the chilies well and little cut them from the middle.
  • In a bowl add some mashed potatoes and add red chili powder, Coriander Powder, salt to taste, garam masala, dry mango powder, green chili, chopped coriander and mix all together.
  • Now fill the mixture in the chilies and keep aside.
  • Now in a bowl add gram flour and salt to taste and add required water. And make a thick consistency mixture. Now put the chili into the mixture and deep fry them in oil.
  • Enjoy it with green coriander chutney and tomato sauce and a cup of tea.
